The Right Decision, for UEFA, for Football

With the recent conclusion of UEFA EURO 2008, possibly the most successful European Football Championships ever, the spotlight now turns to the 2012 hosts, Poland and Ukraine. In awarding their premier event to these two inexperienced host nations, UEFA certainly surprised many people - but did they make the right choice? Nobody would argue that it was a brave decision. We also believe however that it was a very serious and correct decision, made by an organisation charged with nurturing, protecting and most importantly, growing their great sport within Europe. The massive potential for the future of football that these two vast nations can offer and the commitment the decision showed on behalf of the leaders of UEFA to the continual development of football will undoubtedly be worth any organisational glitches that may be experienced over the next four years. From this end we simply say 'stay the course'.
