On Friday November 4, 2011 in Helsinki, the City of Amsterdam, long-time client of TSE, was awarded the right to host the 2016 European Athletics Championships. The other bidders for the event were the cities of Istanbul (Turkey) and Split (Croatia).

Following a presentation to the European Athletics Council, Amsterdam was elected with a majority vote.

Amsterdam's bid focused on showcasing how they would promote, show and expand Athletics throughout the country, Europe and around the world. This innovative proposal was rewarded by the EA, an organisation that continuously promotes innovation in order to continue developing Athletics throughout the continent.

TSE Consulting assisted Amsterdam with their campaign with a specific focus on the development of the bid's positioning compared to its competitors, the development of key messages and the production of communication material.

Greg Curchod, Director of TSE Consulting, stated: "We've worked with Amsterdam over the past few years to develop a clear strategy for the coming years. This is a great win for them, and we look forward to much more success in the future."

Henk Stokhof, Director of Olympic Ambition, City of Amsterdam:
"TSE was instrumental in helping us shape our bid. Their understanding of the sport helped us develop a very strong and convincing narrative. This great success is a key stepping stone for our Olympic ambitions."
